On 26 August 1956, the Air Force purchased 5.96 acres from Aerojet
General Corporation. The Air Force used the property for the
production of liquid oxygen and nitrogen. The Air Force constructed
approximately $665,000 in improvements on the property. The
property was reported as excess by the Air Force on 19 November
1968 and was subsequently sold to the Industrial Air Products
Company and the Pacific Oxygen Company on 24 November 1969.
The property is currently owned by Schnitzer Steel Industries,
Inc. and used as a scrap metal recycling facility.
