Members of the California
State Guard Air Corps's 2nd Observation Squadron mustering into
state service at Sacramento Municipal Airport (now Sacramento
Executive Airport)
on 3 August 1941.
But with the establishment of the Federally funded Civil Air
Patrol on 1 December 1941 and the passage of the State Guard
Act of 1942, the CSG Air Corps
and its ten observation
squadron located statewide were mustered out of state service
