On 26 August 1956, the Air Force purchased 5.96 acres from Aerojet
General Corporation. The Air Force used the property for the
production of liquid oxygen and nitrogen. The Air Force constructed
approximately $665,000 in improvements on the property. The property
was reported as excess by the Air Force on 19 November 1968 and
was subsequently sold to the Industrial Air Products Company
and the Pacific Oxygen Company on 24 November 1969. The property
is currently owned by Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc. and used
as a scrap metal recycling facility.
