Camp on Canoe Creek
 
 

A temporary Army camp estanblished in 1855 and located on Canoe (Hat) Creek about six miles from its confluence with the Pit River, south of Fall River Mills. A party of Topographical Engineers were surveying for a proposed railroad route.
