Camp Strickland
 
A California State Guard camp established at Lake Hemet in 1942 as the 3d Area Field Training Camp. It was officially designated Camp Strickland by General Orders 55 to honor the memory of Sergeant Hugh Boyton Strickland of Company H, 5th Regiment who was killed in the line of duty at Camp Chino on 13 February 1942.
