A settlers' log and earthwork Indian defense built about 1850 by Wiley B. Cassady and C. D. Gibbes, it was located about 10 miles below Fort Miller on the south bank of the San Joaquin River at the Stockton-Visalia stage crossing in Fresno County. It was reportedly was away when the river over flowed in 1852.

Fort Washington

Fort Washington was one of those unofficial settlers' log and earthwork defenses built to protect against Native American attacks. It was built about 1850 by Wiley B. Cassady and C. D. Gibbs and was located ten miles below Fort Miller on the south bank of the San Joaquin River at the Stockton-Visalia stage crossing in Fresno County. The Fort was washed away when the river flooded in 1852.
