Humboldt Bay Bombing Target No. 13

The Humboldt Bay Bombing Target , also referred to as Bombing Target No. 13, was located at Latitude 40' 43' and Longitude 124O15', which places the target in the water, approximately
one-half mile from the Humboldt Bay shoreline. An historical document list of the 12th Naval District "Approvals" lists this site as lease Noy(R)-38139 and Civil No. 4952 for 494.54 acres. An additional document titled the 12th Naval District Status of Facilities as of 15 February 1947 lists this site as surplus and indicates that the leases were never consummated. It is unknown if HBT was ever used.

This property was possibly used as a water-borne target for the purpose of rescue, dive and glide bombing.

There is no property disposal date of HBT due to the indication that the leases were never consummated. However, records indicate that the site was possibly retained by the 12th Naval District .
