Hyde Street Wharf Storage Site Military Reservation
(Hyde Street Terminal)

On 25 August 1947, the U.S. Government acquired by lease the Hyde Street Pier. The lease was terminated in 1947. When acquired, the pier consisted of three docks configured as ferry berths and is listed on lease documents as having been a sub-post for the San Francisco Port of Embarkation. Records do not indicate the use of facility by the U.S. Government, nor identify any specific improvements made. The two (2) easternmost docks were removed in the mid-1970s by persons unknown; only the western dock remains. Today, the Hyde Street Wharf is a display area for Golden Gate Nation Recreation Area's San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park.
