Keeler Peak Radar Annex
 
 
The subject site is located in the Inyo Mountains about 15 miles east of Lone Pine and 28 miles southeast of Independence in Inyo County, California. The site is accessible from Highway 190
at the town of Keeler via 12 miles of a steep and narrow dirt road.

A total of 1,440 acres of public domain land was acquired from the Department of Interior, by use permit dated 1 November 1951 and amended 24 March 1952.

The site was designated Keeler Peak Radar Annex. The area was used by Edwards Air Force Base for a radar site. No improvements were reported to have been constructed on the land.
On 31 October 1953, the use permit for the 1,440 acre site was retransferred to the Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management.
