Reorganized and redesignated 29 January 1968 as the 40th Aviation Company, an element of the 29th Infantry Brigade
 
Ordered into active Federal service 13 May 1968 at Long Beach; released 12 December 1969 and reverted to state control
 
Relieved 1 November 1971 from assignment to the 29th Infantry Brigade
 
Reorganized and redesignated 13 January 1974 as the Aviation Company, 40th Infantry Division; concurrently, location changed to Los Alamitos
