Long Beach Army Air Forces Intransit
Depot No. 8
(United Nations Depot No. 3)
An eight acre Army Air Forces logistical
facility located at 700 Henry Ford Avenue in Long Beach. The
1 June 1943 Army of the United States Station List indicated
that United Nations Depot No. 3 under the control of the Army
Air Forces was co-located with the Army Air Forces Intransit
Depot. The 7 April 1945 Army of the United States Station List
indicated that the depot was operated by the 4705th Army Air
Forces Base Unit (Intransit Depot). The depot used warehouse
builings 1101, 1201 and 1202 at Los
Angeles Army Air Forces Specialized Depot (also know as Maywood
Army Air Forces Specialized Depot).
