Acquired in 1958, this site was formerly known as the Mather AFB Storage Annex, the Mather AFB SHORAN Beacon Annex, or the Mather TVOR Annex, which was used by the U.S. Air Force. In 1971, the site was excessed to the General Services Administration, who subsequently conveyed it to private owners, who in turn sold it to Sacramento County for use as the County Sheriff's Repeater Station.
