Anti-Aircraft Training Center, Point Montara

A World War II naval training center at provided naval personnel taining on 20mm "Oerlokin", 40mm "Bofers" and 3-Inch/50 caliber anti-aircraft guns. The site was between the north end of the Army's Half Moon Bay Flight Strip (now Half Moon Bay Airport) and the Coast Guard's Point Montara lighthouse reservation.. The airfield was transferred to the Navy as Naval Auxiliary Air Station, Half Moon Bay and provided support aircraft (i.e., target tugs) to the Anti-Aircraft Training Center. The site closed soon after the end of World War II.
