Site Names: Richfield Storage Annex has also been referred to as:

Location: Richfield Storage Annex is located in Tehama County, within the town of Richfield, California (Figure 1 and Figure 2).

Site History:
The site was owned by Lowell 0. West Lumber Sales prior to purchase by the Air Force at a U.S. Marshal's foreclosure sale. In 1950, the Department of the Air Force entered into a contract with lumber storage and special millwork services. As a result of excess charges by the corporation, the Government was given a mortgage on the property to secure payment. Soon after the site was acquired, it became an off-base facility of the Sacramento Air Material Area and was leased to Richfield Box Shook. On 23 July 1968, the United States of America acquired fee title to 45.35 acres of land. The deed included a license (no fee interest in the land) for operating and maintaining a railroad spur line to the site. The site had 15 structures that included storage sheds, office buildings, warehouses, and pumphouses.

According to the Report of Excess dated 30 December 1968, the site was not directly used by the U.S. Government. The using service at the time of disposal was the Air Force Logistics Command. The 45.35 acres of land was reported as excess to the General Services Administration (GSA) on 30 December 1968. On 01 January 1973, GSA conveyed the acreage by a quitclaim deed to Tehama Truck Leasing, Incorporated. There was no mention of restrictions, recapture clauses, or restoration provisions in the deed. The land is now owned by Sierra Pacific Industries.
