Sacramento 12th & W Street Armory

Built in 1912 as one of the first three state-funded regimental armories (the other two were the San Francisco Mission Street and Los Angeles Exposition Park Armories) it replaced the armory located in the Agricultural Hall at 6th and M Streets. This armory also served as the state arsenal.

Long associated with the 184th Infantry Regiment (Second California), the armory served as the regimental headquarters and home to its 1st Battalion.

With the building of the Interstate Highway 80 Business Loop/US Highway 50 Freeway, the armory was razed to may way for the "W-X Freeway" portion of that project. It was replaced by the current Sacramento Meadowview Road Armory in the mid-1960s.
