Santa Ana Air National Guard Station

Established on 7 January 1956 when the 222nd Radio Relay Squadron moved from the Compton Air National Guard Station. The squadron occupied a large building on the grounds of the formed Santa Ana Army Air Base. The squadron remined there until 1960 when the site was starting to be redeveloped.

The 222nd was temporarily stationed at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro for 28 months and then returned to Costa Mesa to occupy the newly built Air National Guard Station.
