Travis Defense Area Family Housing Site

Location: The site is located in Solano County, approximately 6 miles east of Vacaville, California

Site History: Prior to 1940, the site was owned by the U.S. Government. The 14.31 acre site was used by the Army for family housing for Travis Defense Area Sites 10, 33, 53, and 86. On 31 March 1959, 14.31 acres were transferred to the Air Force to be used as part of Travis AFB. The site was redeveloped in 1962 into Capehart-type housing. A total of 48 family units were built. Presently, the site consists of an open space area that is used for base recreational purposes.
